On the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations, Sichuan Tourism University held a grand “China-France Cooperative Education Meeting” in the academic report hall. The event was attended by Mr. Guillaume Delvallée, Consul General of France in Chengdu, Mr. Samuel Liegeois, Consul for Science and Education, Mr. Pierre-Olivier Camaret, head of the French Higher Education Agency’s Chengdu center, and Ms. Liu Fang, education project officer. Notable guests also included Mr. Emmanuel Duflos, President of the EPF Graduate School of Engineering in France(hereinafter referred to as “EPF”), and Ms. Eugénia Llamas, Director of International Affairs of EPF. The meeting not only showcased the achievements of both sides’ educational collaboration but also vividly demonstrated our school’s solid steps and fruitful outcomes on the path of internationalization.
The meeting was hosted by Vice President Ren Yingwei, who warmly welcomed the French guests and emphasized the importance of strengthening China-France educational exchanges. President Wang Chuan encouraged students to seize opportunities and develop international competitiveness. President Duflos affirmed the effectiveness of the collaboration and expressed hopes for deeper cooperation. Consul General Guillaume Delvallée highlighted the positive role of education in international relations and wished for even greater success in our partnership. During the meeting, President Duflos awarded scholarships to outstanding students to encourage their continued efforts. Awardee representative Yi Xiangting expressed gratitude for the schools' support and shared an optimistic outlook for the future.
After the meeting, attendees engaged in deeper discussions at a café to enhance mutual understanding. Both sides expressed their commitment to advancing China-France educational cooperation to new heights and creating new achievements in this collaboration.
Heads from Students’ Affairs Office, International Cooperation and Exchanges Office, School of International Education, and School of Information and Engineering, as well as faculty and students from the 2023 and 2024 classes of the Sino-French cooperative program (Building Electricity and Intelligence), participated in the meeting.
