On April 8th, the 58th and 59th Higher Education Expo China(HEEC) was held at the Chongqing International Expo Center. The theme of the expo was “School-Local Government Aggregation, Industry-Education Integration: High-Quality Development” with activities including exhibitions on advanced equipment, high-level conferences and forums, and release of information technology and high-end achievements, covering an area of over 120,000 square meters. Over a thousand experts and scholars, more than 1,500 universities, and over 10,000 companies participated in the event. President Lu Yi and Vice President Bai Jie led a delegation to attend the expo upon the invitation of the organizers. Director Xiao Meng from the Development and Planning Office, Director Xiong Shuangli from the Academic Affairs Office, Director Li Li from the Asset Management Office, Director Wang Jialiang from the Information Center, Deputy Director Pan Tao from the Office of External Cooperation and Exchange, Deputy Director from the Academic Affairs Office Shi Jinnan, Li Zhi, and some representatives from secondary departments and schools also attended the expo.
Representatives from the School of Information and Engineering presented a special exhibition on “the Mode and Practice of Cultivating Industry-Education Integration Talents for Smart Cultural Tourism”. During the expo, experts, university representatives, and company delegates discussed the school’s ideas for building a Smart Cultural Tourism School and its talent training system based on the “34333” model, which received unanimous praise and recognition, showcasing the unique school-running characteristics.
The attendees participated in various activities, such as the Applied University Industry-Education Integration Alliance Annual Meeting in the Chengdu-Chongqing Dual-city Economic Circle, the Higher Education Innovation and Development Forum, the University Laboratory Construction and Development Forum, and the Smart Teaching and Classroom Reform Forum. They also visited the exhibition areas, including the “University Exhibition Area”, “Laboratories and Teaching Equipment”, “Blended Teaching Program Exhibition Area” and “Smart Campus” to gain a comprehensive understanding of new teaching products and research technologies. The participants all expressed that they had gained a lot from the expo and would apply the knowledge and experience to their work in laboratory construction, industry-education integration, talent training, and smart teaching and classroom reform, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the school’s education and teaching and the construction of applied universities.
The practice base project from School of Art, “A Cross-disciplinary Industry-Education Integration Platform based on the ‘Three Works’ (studio, workshop, and camp)” was selected by the China Higher Education Association as a nominated case for the “School-Enterprise Cooperation and Double Hundred Plan”, which was exhibited and reported at the expo.
During the visit to Chongqing, President Lu Yi led the delegation to meet with Zeng Ping, the General Manager of Yuzhou Hotel, and reached a consensus on various aspects of industry-education integration, scientific and educational innovation, talent training, employment, and faculty sharing. Alumni representatives such as Mao Xinyu also participated in the meeting.
