From October 15 to 16, 2022, the 19th National High Level Seminar on Writing Business English Textbooks for Colleges and Universities was successfully held online, sponsored by Yantai Bairuyu Cultural Exchange Co., LTD., co-sponsored by the Institute for International People-to-People Exchange in Innovation and Entrepreneurship , China Renmin University Press, and the Shandong Provincial Committee of International Business English. The seminar was attended by more than 30 teachers from 16 colleges and universities, including Xizang University for nationalities, Henan University of Economics and Law, Yantai University, Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University, Guangzhou University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang International Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies Southland Business School, Guilin University, Shandong Vocational College of Business, Shandong Modern College, etc.
The seminar was divided into four themes. The first theme was Professor Liu Baiyu, chairman of Yantai Bairuyu Company, who delivered the opening speech and shared how to speak Comprehensive Business English well, the ability of comprehensive Business English teachers and the teaching cases of comprehensive Business English. The second topic mainly explains the textbook compilation principles, textbook compilation team, textbook compilation content, business summary compilation, successful businessmen compilation, enterprises and companies compilation, company employees compilation, company products compilation, market compilation, customer compilation, work and life compilation, culture compilation, business ethics compilation, case analysis compilation, Chinese culture and world culture compilation, etc. The third topic explains the details of each unit of the textbook. In the final stage, all the participating teachers will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Comprehensive Business English, analyze cases and share their teaching experience.
This seminar is highly interactive and combines business English teaching with business English ideological and political education. In accordance with the requirements of the Business English Teaching Guide, the seminar adopted the teaching methods of case, heuristic, interactive and educational, which combined theory with practice and was well received by the participating teachers.
